Welcome to SAS Audio Labs. I am really excited about the new 7A basic tube preamplifier. The 7A uses technology, knowledge, design, and parts gleaned over decades of experience and from working with the 10A and 11A line reference preamplifiers. The 7A tube preamplifier will provide pure, emotional, unadulterated, lifelike accuracy, just like its big brothers, and beat just about every preamplifier out there. It is that good.
The 7A uses one volume control and a balance control (approx 4db of balance variation). 4th and 5th inputs and 2nd output jack can be added for $25.00 each and one or more inputs can be set for lower gain upon request and cost of resistors. One can also tube roll by simply removing the top cover. Choice of black or silver knobs.
Features of 7A tube preamplifier:
- The 7A has 3 inputs and 1 output jack. Premium has 4 inputs and 2 output jacks.
- Can drive 20k and higher input impedance amplifiers.
- Simplicity of the signal path. "Lead to lead connecting" (copyright©) whenever possible.
- No frequency dependent musical/signal feedback through the power supply. Again cleaner music.
- DC regulated filament power supply
- Tube dampers, standard. This aids in better focus.
- IEC receptacle for AC power cord rolling.
- A robust 4 stage power supply provides better isolation from hash and interference from/through the rectifiers, transformer and AC line, for a cleaner, more open sound.
- Power switch allows for Power Line (AC) power reversal. One can choose the better sounding position.
- Premium model uses sealed selector switch and volume controls, Jenalabs wire in the signal path, 4 inputs and two outputs
