CUSTOMER REVIEWS: 50PPT Ultra-Linear Tube Amplifier:

es347: Von Scheikert Audio Forum, Audio Circle, 9-25-2010:

I've heard the VR33s with tube amps--the SAS 50W monoblocks. Fear not. They filled the room (16x24x10) with plenty of well-controlled bass and a midrange to die for....at least for those who don't value life all that much.

Bernie: Von Scheikert Audio Forum, Audio Circle, 7-20-2010:

I own the VR4 modded to VR5/7 status – these are very comparable to the VR4 SR speakers. I run SAS Audio Labs 50 watt tube ultralinear monoblocs for the mid/high unit. For the bass module I use a Musical Design ss amp that I already owned. Albert says any decent high powered ss amp will do. You can pick up a decent used ss amp for not much money.

My preamp is the SAS 11A tube unit. As for the SAS tube gear, it is roughly 3k for the pre and 3.5k for the monoblocs so about 6.5k. While I have not heard everything out there, I’ve heard enough stuff to say that the SAS gear will compete with anything out there cost no object. Steve is a very gifted designer and these pieces are nothing short of stellar. So, for roughly 6.5k you can get top notch amplification that will make the Von Schweikerts sound absolutely stunning.
